Spring Forward
A quick walk round the garden this afternoon awarded me with a bounty of botanical treasures. I love picking a selection of fresh flowers and greenery to bring into the house at this time of year to scatter indulgently across a table whilst having tea.
Its so easy to ignore the beauty of little patches of self sown common flowers scattered here and there as well as cultivated garden plants. They all deserve to be admired even the much maligned dandelion has its merits.
Get out into your garden this weekend and pick some daisies if nothing else to brighten up your day.

Paul- this photo is simply stunning! This would make a gorgeous painting! I love having fresh flowers in our home-- fresh weed flowers work just fine too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that it's spring here-- I'm practically skipping when I walk!
I forgot to say earlier- that I LOVE the name of your blog!

Dear Paul,
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful collection - a harmonious feast of contrasts: high-bred camelias and modest forget-me-not, tender 'touch me not', strong lime-coloured euphorbia: a very tricky message to think about while having tea :-). The dandelion is one of my favourite flowers - I am utterly convinced that gardeners would pay gold for them if they were rare.
How lucky for you that you have flowers blooming now. I am a floral designer so would love to have some fresh flowers to play with right now. All we have are daffodils that are almost done. I found you from Tablescapes by Diane. Have a great weekend. Pinky
ReplyDeleteTeapot and the flowers make the picture very nice.
ReplyDeleteHave a great sunny week:-)
Paul, the photograph is so beautiful. That is such a wonderful idea, you've inspired me. I shall go out into the garden right now and pick myself a posy of flowers to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI must say thats an amazing photograph. I hope we get to see more of your garden.
ReplyDeleteCool photo. Stunning flowers and the teapot is great too. Funnily enough I also think dandelions have there merit too. Vive le dandelions!

A great picture! I like this way of having flowers on the table!

If that arrangement doesn't make you want to 'have a spot of tea' as I think you Brits say, nothing will! Beautiful!
