A Blink of Summer

A rare sunny Saturday this weekend had our pasty little white legs racing for the nearest stretch of coastline within easy reach, to roll up our trousers in true British fashion, go for a paddle, eat an ice cream, lounge on the beach and with a smile on our faces, complain that it was far too hot....!

  1. Hello Paul:
We love the way in which you have presented this post. And nowhere is there to be seen a single member of the Great British Public attired, not always a pretty sight, for the beach. Instead you have given us the most wonderful images and, tantalisingly, you do not say where they are!!

  2. Dear Paul,
such lovely photographs from the sea!
Beautiful weather - and so much blue - it breathes the word "summer".
You'll find me now on berlinletters.blogspot.de (with a very special accessory of Karl Lagerfeld :-) - my main blog now, but I'll keep gardeninginhighheels. Hope to see you!

  3. These are wonderful images, sea and sand and a beautiful horizon. We have felt the call of the beach these past few days also, but it is far away from us, you are very lucky to have heeded that call.

  5. Beautiful peaceful images. My favorite would have to be the lone swimmer gazing out to sea!

  6. Hello Paul, beautiful landscape and coastline. Looks so much fun and peaceful at the same time. Finally, a sunny weather in England for you and those cute dogs to enjoy.

Sir Elton John and David Furnish were in Toronto this weekend for their fundraising for their Foundation and it rained that Saturday. We were teasing them that they brought the rain along with them from England! Pamela :)

  8. As I look I can hear the music "sailing by" which used to accompany the shipping forecast in the wee small hours.
The Indian Summer is a magical delight, caught by you in a vision of blues.

  14. Such a beautiful coastline, sometimes I miss living near the beach. But I don't miss that weather, we had a rare rainy day yesterday, the first really grey, rainy day in months. But the sun is about to break through the clouds this morning again...

  16. Lucky you! We didn't make it to the beach this year. Looks like you and the fur babies had a great time. Thanks for the recent visit and kind remarks about my silly story. Have a wonderful weekend!!

  19. I follow your blog and would love to win this beautiful set of garden tools. I just moved to California temporarily for a 2 year job and left all my tools behind. You should've seen me potting plants in my little garden using disposable kitchen tools! I love anything that adds add a little pizzazz to life! : )

  20. Paul, The seaside is so romantic in England. What beautiful light you had. I would frame that photo with the fence posts and the sky and clouds!

You make me want to escape with ice cream and soak up the day.
    Have a lovely weekend!
