A taste of Autumn

Whilst the English garden may be gracefully receding in preparation for it's winter slumber, the stunning shades of Autumn were calling our names this weekend. So we pulled on our boots, wrapped up all toasty and headed out into the crisp November air.

Nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills is Denbies, England's largest wine Estate, the perfect destination for us to catch the turning fiery leaves of Autumn on it's south facing slopes.

The 265 acres of vineyard at Denbies produces 10% of the wine made in the UK, growing a large variety of grape including Seyval Blanc, Bacchus, Ortega, Chardonnay, Reichensteiner and Pinot Noir. Their sparkling wine is made in the traditional 'Champagne' method and with wine tasting on offer we jumped at the chance to quaff some local fayre in the afternoon.

Apologies for the lack of photographs of the tasting session, its hard to take pictures  when you have a glass of wine in each hand!

Wherever you are this weekend, find the time to sit back and enjoy the beautiful colours of Autumn.

Bottoms up!
